It certainly is not that they are cheap to maintain. Why are there so many questions about VW?possibly because people have high expectations of the quality they are supposed to have down to the inflated prices they fetch - for some years now the once high quality has just bnot been there it seemsWhy are there so many questions about VW?
Well as a driver of various new VW's over the last 10 years, golfs, jettas, and currently a top of the line passat, i would say the quality / finish is still top notch.
I have done over 200,000 miles in 0 - 3 year old VW's and have never been left stranded, if they do break they generally go into limp mode to get you home.
All these people that say the are rubbish are possibly slating something which they cannot afford / never actually lived with, all types of cars suffer with the odd 'built on a friday afternoon' issue. Most forums are geared towards cars with issues and not thousands of people praising their faultless car.
Where does the expensive to maintain rumour come from, mine usually costs 拢 250.00 every 20K miles and then the usual extra for belt changes etc etc. Not that expensive at all.
If i ever get an issue with my car i ring up the dealer, he books me in, makes me a nice coffee, gives me the keys to a new golf and say thay will ring me when its done. They even valet my car for me before handing back...........................FANTASTIC SERVICE.
I also have a MK 1 golf GTI, which is still as solid as they day it drove out of the showroom, there are still 20+ year old VW's everywhere, how many old fords, vauxhalls, renaults do you see - NOT MANYWhy are there so many questions about VW?One excellent reason is that VW sells 6.4 Million cars a year. Thats quite a customer base. Considering that fact a few posts on Yahoo is inconsequential. What percentage is that? Maybe .0005 % of people desiring help with cars that are sometimes 10 years old.
So that means abt. 90 some % of VW buyers are happy.
Plus , car magazines often praise VW quality. For example, Automobile Magazine voted GTI Car of the Year. They bought one and tested/flogged it for a year. One year later, they stated not one single problem
My wife and I have been driving VWs for over 20 years. Currently we own a Jetta and a GTI. Both cars are ultra-reliable. Neither has ever let us down.
Contrary to what some believe, VWs are a joy to maintain! We have over 60,000 reliable and free of worry miles on them. The only things we have done maintenance-wise is change oil/filter. My friends who own VWs back this up . Myth debunked!
Are VWs perfect? Of course not. There are some years and models I would shy away from. Overall, though I remain loyal to VW.
So hope Ive cleared up some mis-conceptions abt. these wonderfully engineered, safe, fun to drive cars. Why are there so many questions about VW?
I am a Vw service specialist i find vw doesn't suffer any more failures then other manufactures.
Most of the faults are caused by either neglect, driver error or wear %26amp; tear due to covering Higher then average millage. Why are there so many questions about VW?Could be something to do with the fact you're in the Volkswagen section.
