I have 1999 Vw Jetta and the timing belt look Ok but becoz of the miles in the car i am replacing it the mechanic ask me $500 icluding parts and labor is it reasonable?How much it cost replacement of timing belt and water pump in 1999 VW jetta 2.0 with 93000mile?Actually, that's high. I paid $220 3 years ago. I just had a 2.0 Cabrio done for $265 last month. That's for both parts and labor. I would call a couple of local shops and get quotes. They can do this over the phone. Avoid the Stealership!
