The top of the coolant tank is a spheroid, this cold morning the coolant level was between the middle and the bottom, slightly close to the middle. (I would say it has 1/4 of full capacity at the top)
Actually, what is the right level for VW Beetle 99?How I know if my VW Beetle 99 has good level of coolant?There is going to be a line on the overflow tank (that's what you're looking at, the overflow tank, not the actual coolant tank). That line will usually say "Max hot". What that means is, when the engine is warmed up and at the normal operating temperature, the coolant should be no higher than that line. Cold it will be lower.
Never measure coolant level when cold.
