Does anyone know where a can buy a motor and transmission for my 1980 VW Rabbit?

I have a 1980 VW Rabbit with a 86 Jetta diesel motor. I'm looking for a faster motor that a can get a lot of horsepower out of. Can anyone help me find a place that i can look or purchase a motor at?Does anyone know where a can buy a motor and transmission for my 1980 VW Rabbit?auto salvage yards. A diesel is a diesel.(mainly a torque engine for pulling heavy loads as on big rigs) A gas engine is what you are probably looking for and there will be a fair amount of wiring you will have to do because diesel motors don't need half of it.
