I was thinking either:
-By Location: (Asian, Latin, Mediterranean, European, Ect....)
Or
-By Type: (Appetizers, Entrees, Side Dishes, Desserts, Ect....)
Or By Type With SubCategories Regarding Location: (Appetizers: Latin, Asian, European)
If you have any tips or techniques I'd love to here some feedback, thanks !(:How should I go about organzing recipes?
if you're into making dishes from various parts of the world -- and it sounds like this is part of your concern -- why not organize like this:
Asia:
Appetizers/Snacks
Main Dishes
Sides
Desserts
Latin:
Appetizers/Snacks
Main Dishes
Sides
Desserts
...and so on, continuing then with: Mediterranean, European, etc.
it sounds like it'd be best to get a thick, heavy-duty binder -- with several sets of divider-tabs -- to organize for "worldwide fare". or if you're very actively interested in international cookery... :) a different binder, for each category (Asian, Latin, Mediterranean, Eurpean, etc.) might serve you best.
Origin (type of cuisine) first, then each cuisine should be organized by the type of dish e.g., appetizers, soups, salads, main dishes which can be further broken down by type - vegetarian, chicken, pork, beef, fish etc., then desserts which can break down into puddings, cake, pies etc.
Good luck, you've set yourself quite a big task. How should I go about organzing recipes?
organize them any way you see fit.
I have a friend who has hers alphabetically..
that would drive me nuts....I prefer by category; main dishes, cookies, breads, etc.
If you have lots of recipes that originate from other countries those might be nice arranged by country.
It really depends on your personal taste.
If it's for you're own use - try organizing by the main ingredient of each dish/meal. example, rice, could be the main dish or the side. Noodles or meat, beef, chicken, pork or game? How should I go about organzing recipes?
I would go by type first, then sub categorize them by origin.
