I hear people talk about doing a K swap for their Honda Civics so they can get more power. I was curious as to how much money this would cost and what kind of HP you could expect to gain from it.How much money is a K swap Honda engine for a Civic?A K20 i-VTEC is gonna cost you between 1 and 5 grand depending on which K20. An H2B swap is easier and cheaper than a K series swap and you can still use a rod shifted trans from the B series which is best.
The K series trans break often especially when racing - so most guys have kept it B series
You can do F20B, H22, H23....the larger blocks have more potential in power production....right now the H all motor record is 350 horsepower to the wheels....that street car is running 10.30's@130+mph in the 1/4 mile...in a race car it would be in the deep 9's
Its built as a 2.4L setup but a larger almost 2.6L setup is coming soon
I would build an H before a K....for cost and reliability issues
