Middle Eastern Recipe Help?

My school is doing a huge project where we learn about Middle Eastern countries, and I'm supposed to research Cyprus. Part of the project is to make a food that is popular in our assigned country. I want to make a dessert that is popular in Cyprus (its in the Mediterranean Sea), but it has to be easy. A ton of people have already planned to do baklava, so that is out of the question. I'm having a hard time finding recipes, anyone have any ideas? Also- Cyprus is half Turkish people and half Greek people, so maybe a dessert from one of those countries would work. Please tell me if the recipe is from Cyprus, Turkey, Greece, or wherever.Middle Eastern Recipe Help?
A very popular dessert in that entire region is just plain yogurt (preferably "Greek" yogurt, which is strained, so it's thicker), with some honey drizzled on top, and some chopped walnuts on top of that. Couldn't be simpler or more delicious, and is claimed by Cypriots, Greeks, and Turks alike.Middle Eastern Recipe Help?
I used a semolina-based cake in the end (basboosa). Yogurt is way too plain, since I have to SELL the food as part of my grade.

Make a vegetarian samosa. All you need is Phyllo pastry dough, curry powder, mustard seeds, ground turmeric, mashed potatoes and frozen peas. So yum! Get a recipe so you know exactly what temp to cook them at.
Semolina cakes are popular throughout the mid-east. Try this recipe:
