What is this middle eastern/ greek/ mediterranean topping called?

Several months ago I went into this little local market for Gyros. They also sell a lot of middle eastern foods in the shop.

Some of the ladies from the shop were having lunch and they offered us a flat bread with some green oily sauce/ topping on it. It was very savory, and some of the main ingredients were oregano and olive oil.

It was delicious, but I have forgotten what it was called. I'd love to try and make some at home, but I need to know what it's called before I look up a recipe.

Thanks! What is this middle eastern/ greek/ mediterranean topping called?
it's called zaatar. zaatar means many different things in many different middle eastern countries. but it's kind of a generic spice mix of sun-dried herbs including oregano, sumac, sesame seeds, salt etc. the lebanese do it a little different than the palestinians, who do it different from the lybians, and so on. zaatar can be used in a million different ways, sprinkled over this, mixed with olive oil and dipped with that. it's sort of a cornerstone spice blend. perhaps similar to an indian "curry" or "masala". all are kind of catch-all terms. anyway it sounds like you had a zaatar with olive oil. ps. tzatziki the greek name for a yogurt based sauce. totally different.
That topping was definitely zaatar, and you probably had it served on pita bread (though I'm sure you already knew that). It couldn't have been naan, because naan is Indian and not Middle Eastern.

Actually zaatar is just the name of the dry ingredients, but olive oil is often added to make it into a topping. What is this middle eastern/ greek/ mediterranean topping called?
Was it a pesto? Pesto is usually basil, garlic, olive oil, and pine nuts ground into a paste; however pesto can be made from a variety ingredients (for example, you could have a sundried tomato and walnut pesto instead of a basil pesto etc)
I really think that sounds like Naan bread. I believe it is coriander.

I absolutely love this recipe, it is a video watch it, so you can see what it looks like.
