What Does A Triangle Light With An Exclamation Point In The Middle Indicate On A 2006 Honda Accord?

I have called 2 Honda Dealerships and one said it deals with tire pressure and the other said it deals with traction on the tires and if you are slipping or not. I dont believe either of them. I think it has to do with the tranny or something more extreme like that. It indicates that the VSA system was engaged to help maintain vehicle stability. Once the light comes on, it will not go off until the ignition key is turned OFF. It does not have anything to do with tire pressure; that light reads TPMS when you have a low tire.



there is a switch for the VSA on the left side of the instrument panel. If the light is always ON, check to see if the switch has been pushed in to turn the VSA off. That happens most often by accident when cleaning the intrument panel.



The VSA will come on if you drive over rough roads such as those with potholes or if you drive on slick or icy roads where the wheels spin and the traction control engages. The VSA works by using the anti-lock brakes and a reduction in engine power to restore traction. In most cases, the triangle just comes on to alert you to the potentially hazardous driving conditions. It does not indicate a problem with any system; it only tells you the system was engaged or that the system has manually been turned OFF by pushing the switch in.



if the light goes out when the key is turned off and then turned back on then you don't have a problem--the system is working normally. if the light is on all the time and the switch is not turned off, then you have a problem that needs to be diagnosed.
