How to enable the Trip Computer on my 2007 Honda Civic EX Navigation - Propbably would require a hack? Thanks!

From what I hear, the trip computer is included in the navigation, but it is just disabled by Honda. Some people were able to hack the Honda Ridgeline %26amp; Acura TL to enable the Trip Computer so It's got to be possible. Any pointers or knowledge would be fantastic.
