I have a 2002 Honda Civic. It runs completely fine, but there is a factory defect in the trunk where water can get in from underneath the car when it rains. Has anyone else encountered this type or problem and what is the right way to go about fixing it?How do you fix the leak in a 02 Honda Civic's Trunk?first you must remove the trunk trim and if neccessary remove the rear seat, next with the help of a second person, have the spray the area with a water hose, while you are inside and using a flashlight, to verify where the leak is. If the car has a sunroof, alot of times the drain tubes become clogged or pulled loose and may empty into the car. Also you stated the the water is coming in from the bottom of the car, which is really hard to see. most of the time the leaks in the trunks occour around the tail lights and the trunk weather strip. If the car has been previously repaired there may be incomplete seam sealer around new panels. Once the leak is detected, dry the area, and you can purchase seam sealer or dum dum from a local auto supply store to reseal the area. if you want to go cheap an only tempory repair, clear bathtub calk may work also. How do you fix the leak in a 02 Honda Civic's Trunk?Hello!
