1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/3 cup butter, cut into small pieces
1/4 cup water
2 tablespoons cooking oil
1 small potato, diced
1 small onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, chopped
2 1/2 tablespoons vegetable broth
4 oz ham, finely chopped
1 3-oz. pkg. cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Ground black pepper to taste
1 egg, beaten

Method
Place flour in mixing bowl and cut in the butter with a fork or pastry blender until mixture resembles fine crumbs. Stir in the water and form into a soft dough. Wrap and let chill in refrigerator for 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 400 degree F. In a large skillet, heat the oil and add diced potatoes, onion and garlic. Cook for 3 minutes. Add vegetable stock to pan and bring to boil. Cover and simmer for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until potatoes are tender and liquid has been absorbed. Let cool. Mix ham, cream cheese, Parmesan cheese and pepper into the potato mixture. Divide pastry into 4 portions. Roll each portion into a 6-inch circle. Place the filling on one half of each circle. Brush the edges with egg, then fold over and press the edges together to seal. Place on a cookie sheet. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until pastry is golden.
Notes: Serve with a nice green salad for a complete meal.
